England – Day 03
Today we didn’t need to wake up too early so we slept in.
We started visiting Saint Paul Cathedral. With our ticket, we got an interactive audio guide. Explored and learned about the great architecture on the main floor. At 9:30 you are allowed to access the dome.
We climbed 904 steps to the top and was greeted with a 360° view of the city. Not the sunny, blue sky perfect day, but a great view nonetheless.
Once we got down from the fog we got to visit the crypt where you can learn about the history of the cathedral and the important people buried there.
Next, we walked to the London Tower but it started to rain very hard, we were hungry and decided to instead walk to the Borough Market and have.
Many great options to eat. Today we decided to enjoy the classic fish and chips at Applebees Fish. The restaurant had an option of cod or sea bass. I personally preferred the bass.
Now with a full belly and even more rain, we took a double-decker bus to the tower.
We started visiting the armor galleries where you could see the impressive collection of Henry VIII equipment and an assortment of weapons.
You can visit the prison and see. Some of the torture devices used during in the past.
Don’t forget to go up to the towers near the entrance. And enjoy a great view of the London Tower Bridge.
We stayed until they closed, and once outside we got some tea to stay warm and enjoy the view of the bridge. After a long day of heavy rain, we ended up with a beautiful sunset.
We waited for our dinner at the Medieval Banquet. The experience is dinner like back in medieval times and some performances. Since it was late the kids were tired and not interested in the show.
From here we got back to our hotels and called it a night. Luckily our friends were on the other side of the platforms and were able to take a picture of us waiting for the train.
