England – Day 06
Enjoyed the extra hour of daylight savings by sleeping and not waking up extra early. We woke up to go to the Natural History Museum. The building has an amazing architecture on the outside as well as inside.
We entered through the east entrance, from there you can take the escalator through the representation of the earth.
You will begin with some minerals and rock formations. The path describes everything related to volcanoes and how it changes the earth. This part of the museum is very interactive and keeps the kids engaged.
Further in the museum, there is a fascinating section about human evolution. It has plenty of skulls of hominins (human-like ancestors) with recreations of various of them.
Neanderthal Homosapien
There are plenty of other interesting areas with lots of stone fossils, birds, dinosaurs, etc. We quickly went through these areas since we were short on time.
From here we left to make it to the Lion King play. It was an amazing experience. The performers did an excellent job, the costumes were not only beautiful, but they also had a lot of engineering behind them. If you like theater it an experience well worth it
We left the theater and enjoyed a ride on a double-decker bus. We found an interesting Indian restaurant on the East side of town on Brick Lane Street. We had a couple of good traditional Indian dishes.
This street shows tons of Indian restaurants as well as Middle Eastern food. I wish I would have learned of this area earlier on the trip to stop by more often and try more things.
We decided to end the night early so we found the nearest station (which was closed) and got back to the hotel. But on the way back we decided to try a gelateria that we saw every night on the way back.
